President’s approval and UN invitation underline website’s reachPowering Young Initiatives is an amazing new Not For Profit organisation in Zambia, whose goal is to empower young people with the leadership and entrepreneurial skills needed to address climate change. Future Point 4 Business’s historical connections with Zambia in general, and with the organisation’s founder, John Kakandelwa, in particular, led to our being invited to design and develop its website and online presence.
Powering Young Initiatives was launched in July 2019 and, whilst we all agree that climate change is an urgent issue, we knew it would take time for the organisation and its website to have an impact. We were therefore surprised and delighted when John Kakandelwa received an invitation from the UN Economic and Social Council to attend a 3-day gathering in New York in March and April 2020. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put paid to that event, but we are still pleased with the international notice that the organisation is receiving. In Zambia itself, the President, Edgar Lungu, has expressed his support for Powering Young Initiatives by ‘liking’ the website on Facebook. At Future Point 4 Business, we are naturally thrilled to be able to play our part in developing the online presence that has put such a worthwhile organisation so firmly on the national and international map in such a short space of time.
